At Janzen-Wahl LLC, precision cleaning processes are performed utilizing various methods, depending on the type and amount of contamination on the parts and the required level of cleanliness needed. Parts requiring the most stringent cleanliness criteria are cleaned in our environmentally controlled certified cleanrooms. High purity solvents and solutions are synergized with various types of cleaning processes such as ultrasonic and high pressure spray to achieve the desired level of cleanliness. These cleanliness levels cannot be obtained without a cleanroom and an experienced staff.
Ultrasonic Cleaning – This method uses ultrasonic energy (high frequency sound waves) to enhance particle, soil, and grease removal from a surface. Parts are submerged in detergents, deionized water, and/or solvents while subjected to ultrasonication.
Aqueous cleaning – A water-based cleaning using additives such as detergents and surfactants, resulting in environmentally friendly methods of achieving the desired level of cleanliness.
Solvent Cleaning – Various solvents are employed during this precision cleaning step to achieve the desired level of cleanliness.
Pressure Flush Cleaning - Solvents and/or ultra-pure deionized water are sprayed under pressure to further remove contaminants. This method of parts cleaning is most often used in conjunction with ultrasonication in detergents, surfactants, and/or solvents.
Wipe Cleaning – Specialized lint free wipes and swabs, wetted with a solvent or deionized water, are used to hand clean delicate surfaces that cannot withstand more aggressive cleaning methods.
High Pressure Pump Flush Cleaning - A high pressure pump is utilized to clean the interior of small diameter tubes, pipes, and other internal pathways to flush out contaminants. This method is performed with a variety of solvents as well as deionized water.
Cleanliness Verification – Methods of verification within the certified cleanroom can include visually inspecting the parts, microscopically evaluating the parts for the presence of particles, and/or testing for the presence of non-volatile residue on the parts.
If you need your hardware and components cleaned but do not require the stringent process of precision cleaning, Janzen-Wahl can also provide general cleaning services to fulfill your needs. We have multiple ultrasonic tanks and flushing systems located outside of our certified cleanrooms, as well as bagging materials.
